Nintendo's Alarmo Expanded Release Will See the Clock at Major Retail Stores
Nintendo's Alarmo Alarm Clock: Wider Release and Enhanced Features
Nintendo's interactive alarm clock, Alarmo, is expanding its retail availability in March 2025, as announced via their Twitter (X) account. Initially requiring a Nintendo Online membership, this restriction will be removed for the wider release.
Beyond the Nintendo eShop:
Alarmo will be available at major retailers globally, including Target, Walmart, GameStop, and other authorized retailers. The device will retail at $99.99 USD.
High Demand and Initial Scarcity:
Following its October 9th, 2024 launch, Alarmo quickly sold out in various locations. In Japan, sales were temporarily suspended on the My Nintendo Store, shifting to a lottery system for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers due to overwhelming demand. Similar sell-outs occurred in New York City.
Key Features of the Nintendo Alarmo:
Alarmo boasts a unique blend of gaming and wake-up technology. Featuring 42 selectable scenes from popular Nintendo franchises (Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Splatoon 3, and more), with additional free updates planned (including Animal Crossing: New Horizons), the alarm experience is anything but ordinary.
The alarm process involves a game character waking gently, followed by a visitor. Users can silence the alarm with a simple hand wave or body movement, thanks to a built-in motion sensor. Persistent sleepers will encounter a more insistent visitor and a louder alarm. The alarm stops only upon getting out of bed.
Additional features include hourly chimes, sleep sounds themed to the selected scene, and sleep pattern tracking (sleep duration and movement). For households with multiple occupants or pets, a "Button Mode" is recommended.
The expanded March 2025 release promises broader accessibility and a chance for everyone to experience the unique charm of Nintendo's Alarmo.
