Palworld 0.5.0 Update: Crossplay, Blueprint Upgrades, Photo Mode Added

Apr 15,25

Palworld's latest update, version 0.5.0, introduces a significant feature: crossplay across all platforms. This update allows players to seamlessly enjoy the game with friends, no matter their chosen device. But that's not all—Pocketpair has rolled out a host of other exciting features to enrich your gameplay experience.

One of the standout additions is the Global Palbox, enabling you to store Pal data and transfer Pals between different worlds. Alongside this, the new Dimensional Pal Storage system offers a massive 10 times the capacity of the regular Palbox. Whether you're part of a guild or prefer to keep your storage private, this system caters to all your needs.

For those who love to customize, the update includes a new Cosmetic Armour System. Now, you can change your character's appearance without impacting their armor stats, thanks to the Antique Dresser. Additionally, a new Photo Mode lets you capture breathtaking in-game moments, accessible right from the Pal Command Wheel.

Crafting enthusiasts will appreciate the new Drafting Table, where you can combine lower-rarity blueprints to create higher-rarity ones. Dedicated servers for Mac users have also been introduced, ensuring a smoother gameplay experience for everyone.

Pocketpair is not stopping there; they're actively working on dedicated servers for the PlayStation 5 version, set to be released in the future. Since its early access launch in January 2024, Palworld has attracted an impressive 32 million players. The studio has already outlined a content roadmap for 2025, promising an "ending scenario" and more new content for the popular creature-catching survival game.

Launched on Steam for $30 and simultaneously added to Game Pass on Xbox and PC, Palworld broke sales and concurrent player records. Pocketpair's CEO, Takuro Mizobe, admitted that the game's launch was so successful that the developer struggled to manage the enormous profits it generated. Capitalizing on this success, Pocketpair signed a deal with Sony to create Palworld Entertainment, a new business focused on expanding the IP and bringing the game to the PS5.

However, amidst this success, Palworld faces a legal challenge from Nintendo and The Pokémon Company, who allege that the game infringes on multiple patent rights. They are seeking an injunction and compensation for damages. In response, Pocketpair has adjusted how players summon Pals and is prepared to defend their position in court.
