Persona 3 Reload Still Unlikely to Include Female Protagonist from P3P
Persona 3 Reload: FeMC Remains Unlikely, Confirms Atlus Producer
Atlus producer Kazushi Wada has reiterated the unlikelihood of Persona 3 Portable's popular female protagonist (FeMC), Kotone Shiomi/Minako Arisato, appearing in Persona 3 Reload. This follows previous statements expressing the significant challenges involved.
High Development Costs and Time Constraints
In a recent interview with PC Gamer, Wada explained that while the inclusion of the FeMC was initially considered, particularly during the planning stages for the post-launch DLC, Episode Aigis - The Answer, the associated development costs and time commitment proved insurmountable.
The February 2024 release of Persona 3 Reload, a full remake of the 2006 classic, notably omitted the FeMC, disappointing many fans. Despite considerable fan demand, Wada emphasized the infeasibility of adding her, stating that the development time and costs would be unmanageable, even as DLC. He expressed regret for dashing fans' hopes, stating it's highly improbable she'll ever be added.
This aligns with Wada's earlier comments to Famitsu, where he highlighted the substantial increase in development time and cost compared to Episode Aigis, deeming the hurdles too high. The popularity of the FeMC in Persona 3 Portable fueled fan expectations for her inclusion in Persona 3 Reload, but Wada's latest statements firmly suggest this is highly unlikely.
