Persona 4 Golden: How To Beat Happiness Hands
Conquering Happiness Hands in Persona 4 Golden: A Comprehensive Guide
Happiness Hands, formidable foes appearing randomly in Persona 4 Golden's dungeons, offer substantial XP rewards despite their challenging nature. This guide focuses on defeating Happiness Hands, specifically those encountered early in Yukiko's Castle.
Happiness Hand Weaknesses and Strategies
Happiness Hands exhibit high resistance to elemental attacks. The key to victory lies in exploiting their vulnerability to physical attacks. While Almighty attacks are typically effective against Golden Hands, they're unavailable early in the game. Happiness Hands inflict minimal damage, often idling, but will flee if given the opportunity. A weakness exploit or critical hit will trigger their escape. Prioritize targeting a single Happiness Hand if multiple appear; defeating even one is a significant accomplishment at this stage.
Essential Persona: Orobas and the Hysterical Slap
The most crucial element in defeating Happiness Hands is fusing Orobas. Orobas possesses Hysterical Slap, a powerful physical attack that strikes twice and has a chance to inflict the Rage status effect. Rage prevents Happiness Hands from fleeing, forcing them to repeatedly use their basic attack. Orobas can be fused using either of these Persona combinations:
- Apsaras + Forneus
- Apsaras + Slime
Battle Tactics and Optimization
Before engaging, ensure your party is fully healed. Concentrate solely on physical attacks to maximize damage output. Assign the following attacks:
- Yosuke: Sonic Punch
- Chie: Skull Cracker
- Protagonist: Hysterical Slap
Repeat this attack cycle until victory. Success relies heavily on luck early in the game due to limited options. However, defeating even a single Happiness Hand provides significant XP gains at low levels.
Critical Note: If a Happiness Hand is downed, avoid using an All-Out Attack unless you're certain of a kill. Otherwise, it will recover and escape.
