Pokémon Go Rings in 2025 with a Festive New Year's Event and More!

As 2024 concludes, Niantic is celebrating the arrival of 2025 in Pokémon Go with a special New Year's event. This precedes the Fidough Fetch event and the highly anticipated Sprigatito Community Day. Kicking off the new year is the Eggs-pedition Access, a paid event running throughout January. For $4.99, this unlocks numerous benefits to enhance your Pokémon catching experience until January 31st. This includes increased Gift storage (up to 40 Gifts), daily Gift opening limits (up to 50), and increased Gift acquisition from PokéStops (150).

What's Included in the Pokémon Go New Year's 2025 Event?

The New Year's 2025 event in Pokémon Go runs from December 30th, 2024, at 10:00 am to January 1st, 2025, at 8:00 pm. While there aren't any new Pokémon, Shiny variations, or costumes, there's still plenty of festive fun to be had.

Expect increased wild spawns of special Pokémon including a ribbon-wearing Jigglypuff, a New Year's outfit-clad Hoothoot, and a party hat-sporting Wurmple – all with boosted Shiny rates. Event bonuses include 2,025 XP for Excellent Throws and celebratory fireworks.

Raids will feature a snowflake-hat Pikachu (Tier One), and party hat-wearing Raticate and Wobbuffet (Tier Three), also with increased Shiny chances. Themed Pokémon encounters will also be available through Field Research tasks and PokéStop Showcases.
