闪光突袭于2023年推出，为《精灵宝可梦GO》玩家提供了一种全新的获得闪光宝可梦的方式，只需击败火箭队即可。去年，一系列活动让玩家们热情高涨，例如1月份回归的闪光急冻鸟和8月份的闪光梦幻。这只来自关都地区的传说中的鸟类宝可梦于2020年加入游戏，而闪光梦幻则在同年的《精灵宝可梦GO》庆典活动中加入。这次，玩家们务必做好准备，因为另一只强大的宝可梦即将回归游戏。
1.闪光火焰鸟将于1月19日下午2点至下午5点（当地时间）在《精灵宝可梦GO》即将到来的闪光突袭日活动中登场。在此期间，这只宝可梦将出现在五星级突袭战中，闪光闪光火焰鸟出现的几率将大幅提升。玩家通过转动道馆最多可获得五张免费的《精灵宝可梦GO》突袭通行证，上限提升至七张。他们还可以使用强化TM来教授这只来自城都地区的传说宝可梦“神圣火焰”这个充满力量的技能（训练家对战中威力为130，突袭战和道馆战中威力为120）。
