Pokemon GO Tour Pass: New Free Progression Feature Unveiled
In the world of *Pokemon GO,* Niantic's latest offering, the Tour Pass, has sparked curiosity among players, especially with its surprising free entry point. But what exactly is this new feature introduced during the *Pokemon GO* Tour: Unova Global event?
What Is a Tour Pass in *Pokemon GO*?
The Tour Pass marks a fresh addition to the game, kicking off with the *Pokemon GO* Tour: Unova event. This feature revolves around the collection of Tour Points, earned by completing various in-game tasks. These points unlock a variety of rewards, elevate your rank, and enhance event bonuses throughout the GO Tour Unova event.
The standard Tour Pass comes at no cost, automatically granted to all participants when the event starts on February 24 at 10 AM local time. However, for those seeking an enriched experience, there's the Tour Pass Deluxe. Priced at $14.99 USD (or its local equivalent), this premium version offers an immediate encounter with Victini, along with upgraded rewards and accelerated progression through the Tour Pass levels.
How Do You Earn Tour Points & What Do They Do?
These Tour Points serve as your ticket to a plethora of rewards, allowing you to unlock items and advance through the Tour Pass tiers. As you climb these ranks, you'll gain access to various perks, including encounters with Pokemon, candy, Poke Balls, and more. Furthermore, progressing through the tiers boosts your Catch XP bonus during the *Pokemon GO* Tour: Unova event:
- 1.5× Catch XP upon reaching Tier 2
- 2× Catch XP upon reaching Tier 3
- 3× Catch XP upon reaching Tier 4
While Niantic has kept some rewards under wraps, promising more details soon, we do know that the highest tier in the free Tour Pass rewards a Zorua encounter with a special background. Conversely, the Tour Pass Deluxe culminates in the acquisition of a unique item, the Lucky Trinket.
What Is a Lucky Trinket?
Lucky Trinkets earned during the GO Tour: Unova event come with an expiration date of March 9, 2025, offering a limited window for their use.
*Pokemon GO is available to play now*.
