Pokémon TCG Pocket's Trading Feature Launches, Alongside Space-Time Smackdown Expansion

January's end brings exciting news for Pokémon TCG Pocket fans: the much-anticipated trading feature is finally here, accompanied by the major Space-Time Smackdown expansion!

The trading system allows players to exchange cards with friends, mirroring real-life trading. However, there are limitations. Only cards of certain rarities (1-4 and 1-star) are tradeable, and resources like trade hourglasses and tokens are required. Despite these restrictions, it's a significant addition to the game.

The Space-Time Smackdown expansion introduces iconic Legendary Pokémon Dialga and Palkia, alongside Sinnoh region starters Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup, and a host of other new cards.

Initial player reception to the trading feature has been mixed, with some expressing disappointment. While the feature itself is a positive addition, the numerous restrictions and resource requirements have been criticized. Some argue that a less restrictive, or even entirely absent, trading system would have been preferable. However, developers have indicated they are monitoring player feedback and may implement changes in the future.
