Potential Pokemon Legends: Z-A Release Date Leaks Online

Jan 25,25

Key Points:

  • A potential release date of August 15, 2025, for Pokémon Legends: Z-A surfaced via a now-corrected Amazon UK listing in early January 2025.
  • This aligns with The Pokémon Company's previously stated 2025 release window.
  • Official confirmation of the release date is highly anticipated during the Pokémon Presents broadcast on Pokémon Day 2025 (February 27th).

An unconfirmed release date for Pokémon Legends: Z-A has emerged, pointing towards an August 15, 2025 launch. This date, briefly listed on Amazon UK before being retracted, fits within the timeframe initially announced by The Pokémon Company.

Initially unveiled during the February 2024 Pokémon Day celebrations, Pokémon Legends: Z-A is the anticipated sequel to 2022's Pokémon Legends: Arceus. The original announcement provided limited details beyond its positioning as a follow-up to the exploration-focused Arceus, which notably deviated from traditional Pokémon gameplay by omitting gym battles and the Pokémon League. Since its reveal, information has been scarce.

The leaked Amazon UK listing, highlighted by content creator Light88, briefly displayed August 15th as the release date before reverting to a December 31st placeholder. The August date, however, remains consistent with the previously announced 2025 release window.

February 2025 Confirmation Possible

The legitimacy of the leaked date aside, a formal announcement is likely imminent. Similar to its initial reveal during Pokémon Day 2024, the release date could be unveiled during the 2025 Pokémon Day event on February 27th – the anniversary of the original Japanese release of Pokémon Red and Green. Data mining of the latest Pokémon GO build supports this February 27th date for Pokémon Day 2025.

Beyond the release date, fans eagerly await a gameplay reveal, also potentially slated for the February 2025 Pokémon Presents.

Initially confirmed as a Nintendo Switch exclusive, Pokémon Legends: Z-A will also be playable on the upcoming Switch 2, thanks to confirmed backward compatibility. While past mainline Pokémon games have featured paid DLC, Pokémon Legends: Arceus only received a single free post-launch update, "Daybreak."
