Sony Unveils Sleek Midnight Black PlayStation 5 Accessories

Sony has unveiled its stylish Midnight Black Collection for the PlayStation 5, featuring a quartet of premium accessories: the DualSense Edge wireless controller, PlayStation Portal handheld remote player, Pulse Elite wireless headset, and Pulse Explore wireless earbuds. All boasting a sophisticated black finish.

The collection's pricing is as follows:

Pre-orders begin January 16th, 2025, at 10 AM ET, exclusively through direct.playstation.com, with a full launch scheduled for February 20th, 2025.

This announcement follows the excitement generated by CES 2025 and complements existing color options for the PS5, such as Volcanic Red and Galactic Purple. The new Midnight Black collection offers a sophisticated alternative to the standard white DualSense controller.

The DualSense Edge controller's Midnight Black edition includes a matching carrying case, a modern update compared to previous releases. While the Pulse Elite headset is pricier than its predecessor ($149.99 vs. $99.99), it also comes with a felt gray carrying case (shared with the earbuds). The earbuds themselves command a premium price of $199.99.

Beyond this collection, Sony continues to expand its range of themed DualSense controllers. Following the successful releases tied to God of War and Marvel's Spider-Man 2, a limited-edition Helldivers 2 DualSense controller is currently available for pre-order.
