The $10 upgrade to the PS5 version is only available to those who purchased the PS4 disc or digital copy, excluding those who acquired the game through PS Plus (including the PS Plus Collection and April 2021's Essential offering).
This means PS Plus users must pay the full $49.99 price, prompting complaints online. Many subscribers express they would have paid the $10 upgrade fee but will now skip the game entirely, highlighting potential lost revenue for Sony. Several commenters on the PlayStation Plus subreddit criticized Sony's decision, pointing out that offering the upgrade to PS Plus users, even at a small cost, would have generated additional revenue. Some argue that Sony's decision is short-sighted, given that they already gave the game away for free.
