How to Start Thrown to the Dogs in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

If you pre-ordered Assassin’s Creed Shadows, you’ll be able to embark on a quest called Thrown to the Dogs. This quest becomes available once you take control of Naoe and gain access to the open world for the first time.

To start, follow the quest marker on your map to find a dog, then follow it to a farm. Your next task is to locate a key hidden underneath a house. After finding the key, return to the grave site where you first encountered the dog. Once you complete these steps, you’ll become friends with the dog, and the quest will be marked as completed.

If you struggle to find the key, look for a small crawlspace at the bottom of the house. Naoe can go prone and crawl inside to retrieve the key. This can be easy to miss, so keep an eye out.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows Preorder Bonuses

Upon completing Thrown to the Dogs, you’ll receive your pre-order bonuses, which include:

• Tsuki-maru as a pet at the Hideout
• 1,000 XP

While the bonuses might seem modest, they can be quite beneficial early in the game. Tsuki-maru adds charm to your Hideout without serving any functional purpose, but the 1,000 XP can be significant. It should provide you with a few Mastery Points to experiment with, although you'll need to rank up your Knowledge to unlock more skills.
