This 2,315-piece set is LEGO’s most intricate R2-D2 model yet. IGN had the opportunity to assemble this set upon its release and found the experience delightful. Standing over a foot tall, the model allows for customizable posing, with features like a retractable third leg, opening front hatches, and an extendable periscope. LEGO’s attention to detail ensures every color, wire, tube, and light matches the on-screen R2-D2, making this set a prime example of their craftsmanship. Pair it with other top LEGO Star Wars sets for 2025 for an exceptional display.

R2-D2’s latest on-screen appearance was in 2021’s Book of Boba Fett, episode 6, titled “From the Desert Comes a Stranger.” This episode stood out for featuring a CGI de-aged Luke Skywalker, the only live-action appearance of bounty hunter Cad Bane, and the beloved blue-and-white astromech droid. IGN rated the episode a seven, noting its focus on The Mandalorian and nostalgic Star Wars elements over its main storyline.
