Rockstar Releases Bully Anniversary Edition Update After Six Years
Rockstar Games, renowned for the Grand Theft Auto series, has finally released an Anniversary Edition update for Bully on mobile platforms. After a six-year hiatus, this update marks a significant moment for fans who have been eagerly awaiting new content.
Rockstar Hasn’t Forgotten about Bullworth Academy!
The update for Bully: Anniversary Edition introduces support for new languages and focuses primarily on enhancing stability and resolving bugs. Notably, Rockstar has temporarily disabled Friends Challenges, suggesting further improvements are on the way.
For Android users with compatible devices, the update introduces Screen Space Ambient Occlusion (SSAO), enhancing visual depth. Additionally, the app icon has been refreshed, and haptic feedback has been added to both Android and iOS platforms, enriching the gaming experience.
Several mission-specific issues have been addressed, such as the previously unpickable locker in 'That Bitch' and progression blocks in 'Weed Killer' due to premature window breaking. 'The Rumble' mission no longer suffers from police cars falling through the floor. Furthermore, the update fixes instances where enemies wouldn't attack Jimmy, ensuring more balanced combat encounters. Crashes that could occur when starting a new game or loading a save from the pause menu have also been resolved.
What Do Players Have to Say about Bully: Anniversary Edition?
The Bully community has long yearned for Bully 2, with rumors of its development in the 2010s being shelved in favor of Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA Online. With GTA 6 currently in development, the prospects of Bully 2 seem dim, particularly with many original team members having left Rockstar.
While not a full remaster or sequel, the new update for Bully: Anniversary Edition is a welcome enhancement for mobile gamers. If you're new to the series, Bully offers a unique take on the schoolyard sandbox genre, where you play as Jimmy Hopkins, a 15-year-old navigating the trials and tribulations of Bullworth Academy, all wrapped in Rockstar's signature humor and open-world antics.
You can dive into Bully: Anniversary Edition on the Google Play Store for €7.99, which also supports full gamepad functionality.
