Romancing SaGa Re:universe Comes to a Close
Romancing SaGa Re:universe's global server is closing permanently on December 2nd, 2024. While this might come as a surprise to some, the Japanese version will continue operation.
Two Months Remain
The game's shutdown is just two months away. In-app purchases of premium currency and Google Play Points exchanges have already ceased following the September 29th, 2024 maintenance.
Launched globally in June 2020, the game's four-year run is concluding. Despite impressive visuals, music, and a generous gacha system, reception was mixed.
Unlike its popular Japanese counterpart, the global version faced criticism for omitting significant content like the Solistia region and 6-star unit upgrades—content available in Japan for nearly a year. This content gap contributed to player attrition.
Community Feedback
Square Enix, the developer, has already shuttered several titles this year, including Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius and two Dragon Quest mobile games. The closure of Romancing SaGa Re:universe's global service adds to this list.
This classic SaGa series entry offers traditional turn-based RPG gameplay. Players have two months left to enjoy the game, and newcomers are welcome to give it a try via the Google Play Store.
