Rumor: Genshin Impact Leaks Popular Character\'s Banner Rerun for Version 5.4
Genshin Impact's Wriothesley Rumored for Version 5.4 Rerun After Over a Year
A recent leak suggests Wriothesley's return to Genshin Impact's Event Banners in Version 5.4, marking his first rerun after a year-long absence. This highlights the ongoing challenge Genshin Impact faces in balancing its extensive roster of over 90 playable characters with the limited rerun slots available. With the current banner system, providing each limited 5-star character an annual rerun is practically impossible.
While the Chronicled Banner aimed to alleviate this issue, its effectiveness remains debated. The long wait for Shenhe's rerun (over 600 days) exemplifies this. Until a triple banner system is implemented, extended rerun wait times are likely to persist.
Wriothesley, a Cryo Catalyst introduced in Version 4.1, is a prime example. His absence from Event Banners since November 8, 2023, has left many players eager for his return. The leak, originating from Flying Flame, indicates this will happen in Version 5.4. This aligns with a recent Spiral Abyss buff that benefits his playstyle.
However, caution is advised. Flying Flame's track record is mixed, with some past leaks proving inaccurate. Therefore, this information should be considered speculative.
Version 5.4 is also anticipated to introduce Mizuki, potentially Inazuma's first Standard Banner character. If both Mizuki and Wriothesley are featured, the remaining Event Banner slot may feature either Furina or Venti, as they are the only Archons yet to have consecutive reruns. Version 5.4's launch is projected for February 12, 2025.
