Where to Find Sam in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 (KCD2)
Securing the best ending in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* requires completing specific tasks, and rescuing Sam is crucial. This guide details how to find and save Sam during the "Reckoning" quest.
Rescuing Sam During “Reckoning”
Towards the end of the main questline, you discover Sam is held captive at Praguer’s Camp, captured by Brabant. You can save him during the "Reckoning" quest, choosing between stealth or a more direct approach.
To infiltrate the camp undetected, acquire a guard's outfit. You can either kill a guard and take it (remember to hide the body!), or find one in the numerous chests scattered throughout the camp. Once equipped, you can freely explore without raising suspicion.

Sam is located in the barn to the left of the camp, beyond the central cooking fire. Use the ladder on the barn's side to enter and confront Brabant. Here, you face a significant choice: kill or spare Brabant. Sparing him contributes to the best ending, but the decision is ultimately yours.
When to Rescue Sam
After freeing Sam, don't immediately attempt to leave. He'll inform you about von Aulitz, also within the camp. It's strategically advantageous to deal with von Aulitz first, then find a horse, and finally return for Sam. This order simplifies the process, as you'll need to carry him to the horse.
Von Aulitz is in the main camp area. Wearing the guard outfit allows you to enter his quarters without incident. You'll find him near death. You can offer him a dignified death (the most honorable choice), kill him, or leave him to perish. While the impact isn't massive, letting him die contributes to the best ending.
Finally, retrieve Sam from the barn (a guard might question you; simply state you're moving a body). Exit the camp, turn right, and circumvent the perimeter to reach the stables. Choose a horse and escape with Sam, bringing you closer to completing Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2’s main questline.
