God of War Devs' New Sci-Fi IP Rumors Swell

Glauco Longhi, a renowned character artist and game developer known for his work on God of War, has sparked rumors of a new intellectual property (IP) being developed by Santa Monica Studio. This buzz originates from Longhi's LinkedIn profile, where he mentions rejoining the studio to lead character development for an "unannounced project."

Longhi's journey with Santa Monica Studio began with God of War (2018), where he progressed to become the lead character artist for God of War Ragnarok. His return to the studio was motivated by the opportunity to "supervise the character development pipeline" for this new, mysterious project.

"Supervising/Directing Character development on an unannounced project, and also helping the studio to continually push and raise the bar on Character Development for videogames," Longhi states on his profile.

Rumors have circulated that this unannounced project could be a sci-fi game, possibly spearheaded by Stig Asmussen, the creative director behind God of War 3. While these rumors remain unconfirmed, Sony's recent trademark filing for "Intergalactic The Heretic Prophet" has added to the speculation. Previously, the studio was rumored to be developing a sci-fi game for the PS4, but that project was believed to have been canceled.
