Get ready for more post-apocalyptic thrills because HBO has announced that The Last of Us Season 2 will premiere on Sunday, April 13 at 9pm ET/PT. You can catch it on HBO as well as stream it on Max. This season will consist of seven gripping episodes, and to ramp up the excitement, HBO has released new character posters featuring Joel, Ellie, and Abby.

Set five years after the gripping events of the first season, The Last of Us Season 2 will continue the journey of Joel and Ellie as they navigate life in a commune in Montana alongside Joel's brother, Tommy. Fans of the video game series will recognize the plotline, as this season adapts the storyline from The Last of Us Part II.

Returning to their iconic roles are Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie, and they're joined by fresh talent including Kaitlyn Dever who will portray Abby, Isabela Merced as Dina, Young Mazino as Jesse, Ariela Barer as Mel, and Tati Gabrielle as Nora. Notably, Tati Gabrielle will also star as the main protagonist in Naughty Dog's upcoming game, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.

The first season of The Last of Us was a massive success for HBO, captivating audiences worldwide. Created by Craig Mazin, known for Chernobyl, and Neil Druckmann, head of Naughty Dog, the series swept up numerous Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards and garnered nominations for five Primetime Emmys, including Outstanding Drama Series, Lead Actor, Lead Actress, Outstanding Director, and Outstanding Writing.

Due to the overwhelming success of the first season, HBO is brimming with excitement for more of The Last of Us. Francesca Orsi from HBO has hinted at a total of four seasons, indicating that Season 2 will not cover the entire game but will be a thrilling continuation nonetheless.
