New Shining Revelry Expansion Coming to Pokemon TCG Pocket This Month
My interest in Pokemon TCG Pocket tends to ebb and flow. I get incredibly engaged whenever a new set is released, and I keep playing as long as there are Emblems to earn for achieving around 40 wins. Once that's done, my routine shifts to logging in daily, opening my packs, doing a Wonder Pick for fun, and then moving on until the next day. This cycle is set to restart with the arrival of the latest expansion, Shining Revelry, on March 27th.
Shining Revelry will bring 110 new cards to TCG Pocket, featuring a variety of new Ex Pokemon, Trainers, and the stunning art cards that fans adore. The most thrilling part of this expansion, as hinted by its name, is the introduction of Shiny Pokemon. For those new to the concept, Shiny Pokemon are unique, differently colored versions of the creatures we know and love. For instance, a Shiny Lucario boasts a striking yellow hue instead of its usual blue, while a Shiny Pachirisu flaunts a charming pink stripe.
The trailer for Shining Revelry, which you can view below, offers a tantalizing glimpse of what's to come. A new Shiny Charizard Ex will make its debut, boasting 180 HP and an attack named Steam Artillery that deals an impressive 150 damage. However, this powerful move requires a hefty five energy. Thankfully, its other move, Stoke, enables you to attach three Fire Energy cards at once, making it more manageable.
Another exciting addition is a new Ex version of Lucario. Previously seen in a supporting role in the Space-Time Smackdown expansion, this iteration of the Aura Pokemon is designed for frontline combat. With 150 HP, it may not be the most durable, but its Aura Sphere attack could be a game-changer, dealing 100 damage for three Fighting Energy and also hitting one of your opponent's Benched Pokemon for 30.
The trailer also showcases other cards that, while not groundbreaking, are still noteworthy. Shiny versions of Wiglett, Pachirisu, and Varoom are on the way and look fantastic. Additionally, there's a visually stunning Tatsugiri art rare that I'm eager to add to my digital collection.
Pokemon TCG Pocket is available for free on the App Store and Google Play, with in-app purchases available. If you're interested, you can download it for your preferred platform using the buttons below.
