Obtain Shiny Keldeo and Meltan in Pokémon Home
Shiny Keldeo and Meltan are now available in Pokémon Home (version 3.2.2 and later), but obtaining them requires completing specific tasks. While challenging, acquiring Shiny Keldeo is particularly rewarding, as it was previously unobtainable legitimately and Shiny-locked. Both Shiny Keldeo and Shiny Meltan can then be transferred to other compatible Pokémon games linked to your Home account.
Claiming Shiny Keldeo in Pokémon Home
To receive Shiny Keldeo, you must complete the Galar Pokédex in Pokémon Sword & Shield, including entries from the Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra DLCs. Crucially, all Pokémon must possess the Galar origin mark (a slanted Poké Ball icon above their stats) indicating they originated from Sword & Shield or its DLC. Simply completing the Pokédexes in Sword & Shield itself is insufficient.
Once the Galar Pokédex is complete, select the three-line menu icon, then "Mystery Gift" to claim Shiny Keldeo. There's no deadline for claiming this Pokémon.
Claiming Shiny Meltan in Pokémon Home
Similarly, obtaining Shiny Meltan requires completing the Kanto Pokédex in Pokémon Home using Pokémon bearing the Let's Go marker (a Pikachu silhouette above their stats), signifying their origin in Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu & Eevee.
After completing the Kanto Pokédex, claim Shiny Meltan via the "Mystery Gift" option. Like Keldeo, there's no time limit for claiming Meltan.
Troubleshooting Pokédex Registration Issues
Some mobile users experience Pokédex registration problems. To resolve this, clear the Pokémon Home app cache by following these steps:
- Open the app and select the three-line menu icon in the top-right corner of the title screen.
- Choose "Clear Cache."
- Confirm by tapping "OK." The app will confirm a successful cache clear.
This should resolve any registration issues.
Now that you know how to obtain Shiny Keldeo and Shiny Meltan, explore other Pokémon adventures!
