"Silent Hill f: Horror Storytelling Meets Anime Music"
During the Silent Hill Transmission livestream on March 14, Konami unveiled Silent Hill f, a new addition to the iconic horror series. The narrative of the game is being crafted by Ryukishi07, the acclaimed creator behind the psychological horror visual novel When They Cry (Higurashi no Naku Koro ni). Known for his expertise in suspense and complex storytelling, Ryukishi07’s involvement has already generated significant excitement among fans of both the Silent Hill franchise and his previous works.
The anticipation for Silent Hill f is further heightened by the announcement of its soundtrack, which will feature contributions from Dai and Xaki, renowned composers celebrated for their work in anime. Their collaboration with industry veterans Akira Yamaoka and Kensuke Inage, who have shaped the auditory essence of the Silent Hill series, promises to enhance the game’s atmospheric experience.

Ryukishi07 shared insights into his decision to bring Dai and Xaki on board, noting that their music has consistently elevated his past projects. He specifically requested their involvement to enhance key moments within Silent Hill f:
These two musicians have always helped make my projects better. For Silent Hill f, I specifically asked them to focus on scenes I wanted to make particularly expressive.
Interestingly, Dai’s entry into the industry was unconventional. As a fan, he once sent a letter to Ryukishi07 critiquing the use of free music in one of his games. Instead of dismissing the feedback, Ryukishi07 challenged him to create his own soundtrack. Impressed by Dai’s talent, the team ultimately incorporated his work into their projects, marking the beginning of a successful partnership.
Silent Hill f is currently in development for PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store) as well as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. With its blend of Ryukishi07’s compelling storytelling and the evocative compositions of Dai and Xaki, the game aims to deliver a haunting experience that pushes the boundaries of horror gaming.
As fans eagerly await its release, the collaboration between these creative minds underscores the potential of Silent Hill f to become a standout entry in the legendary series.
