SoMoGa Drops A Revamped Version Of 16-Bit Classic JRPG Vay On Android
SoMoGa Inc. has released a revitalized version of Vay for Android, iOS, and Steam. This classic 16-bit RPG returns with stunning new visuals, a modernized user interface, and welcome controller support.
Originally launched in Japan in 1993 on the Sega CD, Vay—developed by Hertz and localized for the US by Working Designs—received a prior iOS release from SoMoGa in 2008. This new version breathes fresh life into the beloved title.
What's New in the Revamped Vay?
The revamped Vay boasts over 100 enemies, a dozen epic bosses, and exploration across more than 90 diverse areas. A standout feature is the user-selectable difficulty, catering to players of all skill levels.
Convenience is key with the addition of an auto-save function, eliminating the frustration of lost progress. Bluetooth controller support offers flexible gameplay options. Players can acquire new gear and items, while characters level up, learning powerful new spells. An AI system allows for autonomous character combat.
The Story of Vay
The game unfolds in a distant galaxy, scarred by a millennium-long interstellar war. A colossal, malfunctioning machine crashes into the technologically underdeveloped planet Vay, unleashing destruction and chaos.
Players embark on a quest to rescue their kidnapped wife, a mission that may ultimately determine the fate of the world. Attacked on their wedding day, the protagonist sets out on an epic journey to confront the devastating war machines and restore peace.
Vay's captivating story blends nostalgia with modern sensibilities. Staying true to its JRPG roots, characters gain experience and gold through random encounters. Nearly ten minutes of animated cutscenes are included, with both English and Japanese audio options.
Download the revamped Vay today from the Google Play Store. This premium title is available for $5.99. Be sure to check out our other gaming news as well. Unlock Love And Goodies With The Loving Reveries Update In Tears Of Themis.
