Sonic Blitz Card Game Soft Launches in Philippines
- Sonic Blitz is now in soft launch, available exclusively in the Philippines.
- It's a high-speed card battler where you build collectible decks featuring iconic Sonic characters.
- Duel across classic series locations and unleash the Dash attack to trigger unique animations.
Following Sega's acquisition of Rovio, expectations were high for a wave of new game releases. The speed at which this is happening, however, has been a welcome surprise—especially with the unexpected soft launch of Sonic Blitz in the Philippines!
Sonic Blitz stands out from the crowd. Unlike titles such as Sonic Rumble (a Fall Guys-inspired battle royale), it represents a bold new direction for the Sonic franchise. How? By being a fast-paced deckbuilding card battler where you collect cards based on beloved Sonic heroes and villains.
Don't let the card game format fool you; this isn't a slow grind. With dynamic three-minute matches featuring constantly shifting rules, Sonic Blitz is designed to be easy to pick up but hard to put down, offering hours of competitive fun with friends.

The inspirations behind Sonic Blitz are clear. The collectible cards showcase detailed 3D models that aim to capture the authentic feel of the characters, reminiscent of titles like Pokémon TCG Pocket. Meanwhile, the quick three-minute match format, while popular now, was notably popularized on mobile by another major licensed card game, Marvel Snap.
Sonic Blitz adds its own flair with the signature Dash attack mechanic, delivering special animated sequences for every card. While a global release date hasn't been announced, a successful run in the Philippines will likely lead to more news soon.
If you enjoy card battlers, there are plenty of other excellent options to explore. Check out our rankings for the top 15 card battlers on iOS, or dive into the latest season of Marvel Snap.
