Sony Offers Ellie's Exclusive Skin for The Last of Us 2 PC Players to Sign into PSN
Sony has officially unveiled the PC specifications for The Last of Us Part II Remastered ahead of its eagerly anticipated release on April 3. Alongside the PC specs, Sony has detailed new content for No Return Mode, which will be available on both PC and PlayStation 5, and introduced incentives for players who sign into their PSN accounts.
In a detailed post on the PlayStation Blog, Naughty Dog, in collaboration with support studios Nixxes Software and Iron Galaxy, outlined the enhanced features coming to the PC version of The Last of Us Part II Remastered. This release follows a year after its debut on the PlayStation 5.
The Last of Us Part II Remastered PC Features:
- Graphics Enhancements: The game supports Nvidia DLSS 3 Super Resolution, AMD FSR 3.1, and AMD FSR 4 with upscaling and frame generation capabilities. Players can also adjust settings like Texture Quality, LOD Distance Range, Volumetric Quality, Shadow Quality, Ambient Occlusion, and Reflections Quality.
- Performance Options: Options include VSync, framerate caps, and an uncapped framerate for those seeking the ultimate performance.
- DirectStorage Support: This feature enhances loading times and overall game performance.
- Display Support: The game is compatible with ultrawide monitors, supporting 21:9, 32:9, and even 48:9 resolutions, perfect for triple-monitor setups.
- Resolution and Audio: Players can enjoy the game in 4K resolution with 3D audio support.
- Control Customization: The PC version offers extensive control customization, including full remapping, primary and secondary bindings for keyboard and mouse, and an adaptive mode for combining keyboard and controller inputs. DualSense controllers are supported with full haptic feedback.
Sony emphasized that the PC version is designed to cater to a wide range of hardware, from high-end PCs to handheld gaming devices, ensuring an optimal gaming experience for all players.
The Last of Us Part 2 PC Specs:
No Return Mode Updates:
Sony is expanding No Return Mode with the addition of two new characters from The Last of Us Part I: Bill and Marlene. Each character brings a unique playstyle to the mode:
- Bill: A "Smuggler" who can access a custom pump shotgun from dead drops and receives double rewards from drops. He's stronger against melee attacks but cannot dodge.
- Marlene: A "Risk Taker" with a Custom Assault Rifle, "All or Nothing" gambits, and the ability to reroute her No Return path once per run.
Additionally, four new maps are being introduced to No Return Mode:
- Overlook: Set high above Seattle with vertical gameplay, reminiscent of a Seraphites encounter in the campaign.
- School: An abandoned elementary school where Ellie and Dina faced the W.L.F.
- Streets: Located in the overgrown Hillcrest neighborhood of Seattle.
- Nest: Familiar to players who played as Abby through an Infected-infested building.
All new content for No Return Mode, along with new Trophies and bug fixes, will be available on PS5 simultaneously with the PC launch through a free downloadable 2.0.0 patch.
PSN Sign-In Incentives:
While signing into a PSN account on PC is optional, doing so grants access to the PlayStation overlay, PSN Trophies, and 50 in-game points to activate bonus features. Additionally, players who sign in will receive a new skin for Ellie featuring Jordan A. Mun’s jacket from Naughty Dog’s upcoming PS5 game, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. PS5 players can also unlock this skin through the 2.0 patch using in-game bonus points.
Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet:
Neil Druckmann, director of The Last of Us, recently shared insights into Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, which has been in development for four years. The game, starring Tati Gabrielle as Jordan A. Mun, explores themes of faith and religion in an alternate historical timeline.
HBO's The Last of Us Season 2:
The PC release of The Last of Us Part II Remastered comes ahead of Season 2 of HBO's acclaimed TV adaptation. Showrunners Druckmann and Craig Mazin have confirmed the return of spores, which were omitted from Season 1.
This comprehensive update from Sony not only enhances the gaming experience for The Last of Us Part II Remastered on PC but also enriches the No Return Mode across platforms, offering players new challenges and rewards.
