Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse Star Hasn't Recorded His Lines Yet
Jharrel Jerome, star of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, has confirmed that production on the highly anticipated third installment, Beyond the Spider-Verse, hasn't even begun. He revealed to Decider that he hasn't yet recorded any lines, and that various aspects of the film are still "being figured out." This news shouldn't be entirely surprising, given the five-year gap between the first and second films.
"No, I wish," Jerome responded when asked about production commencing. "We haven’t started up yet. A lot of things being figured out, but good things."

While Jerome had a relatively minor role in the second film, his character is poised for a significant presence in Beyond the Spider-Verse. Major spoilers for Across the Spider-Verse follow: He's set to portray the film's main antagonist – Miles G. Morales from Earth-42. This version of Miles, appearing at the end of Across the Spider-Verse, is not Spider-Man, but the Prowler.
In this alternate reality, the radioactive spider bite intended for Miles shifted to the Earth-42 Peter Parker, leaving Miles to become the Prowler after Peter's death and the subsequent villainous takeover of New York.
The conflict between this villainous Miles and the main protagonist Miles will likely be central to Beyond the Spider-Verse. However, fans will have to exercise patience, as Deadline suggests a 2026 release at the earliest, or potentially as late as 2028 if following the release schedule of the previous film.
