Split Fiction immerses players in the vivid worlds of two fiction writers through a groundbreaking co-op experience, enabling two players to join even if only one owns the game. Launched in March, it became an instant success for Hazelight and designer Josef Fares, surpassing 2 million sales in its first week. It’s also confirmed as a Nintendo Switch 2 launch title as Hazelight begins work on its next project.

A film adaptation of Hazelight’s game is in development, with Story Kitchen, known for the Sonic films, reportedly lining up writers, a director, and a cast featuring Sydney Sweeney.

We called Split Fiction "a masterfully designed and captivating co-op adventure that shifts seamlessly across genres," noting in the IGN Split Fiction review that it delivers "a whirlwind of innovative gameplay and styles, constantly evolving over its immersive 14-hour journey."
