The PC version of the game not only boasts significantly superior visuals compared to its PS5 counterpart but also offers a more stable performance. This disparity has sparked discussions within the gaming community about the necessity for an update tailored for Sony's console. Currently, PlayStation 5 players are facing issues such as blurry visuals when using performance mode, and those with the base console have no choice but to wait for forthcoming patches. Game director Naoki Hamaguchi has acknowledged that improvements are feasible within the technical constraints of the PS5.

"Following the release of the PC version's promotional material, we've been inundated with requests for a comparable update for the PS5 version," Hamaguchi stated. "We're keen to make enhancements at some point, respecting the performance limits of the PS5."

The gaming community is eagerly anticipating that Square Enix will heed these fan requests and enhance the visual experience on consoles. While the development team is diligently working on the sequel, Hamaguchi has urged fans to remain patient as more information will be disclosed in due time. He reflected on 2024 as a successful year for Final Fantasy Rebirth, the second installment of the trilogy, which garnered global attention and multiple awards.

Looking ahead, the third installment of Final Fantasy VII is set to present unique challenges as the developers strive to expand the game's fan base. Interestingly, game director Hamaguchi also expressed his admiration for Grand Theft Auto VI this year, acknowledging the immense pressure faced by the Rockstar Games team due to the phenomenal success of GTA V. He conveyed his support, recognizing the high expectations set by their previous work.
