Stalker 2 Side Quest: Science Triumphs
In Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, players exploring The Zone will encounter numerous NPCs, leading to various quests, including the "For Science!" side mission. This quest begins with a meeting between Skif and Yaryk Mongoose at the Central Elevator in the Chemical Plant.
Initiating the "For Science!" Quest:
To start, locate the Central Elevator in the Chemical Plant. Mongoose will contact Skif via radio, prompting a meeting. Enter the Central Elevator, proceed left past the conveyor belts, ascend the rusty stairs, and vault the railing to reach Mongoose on the first floor. He'll explain the need to activate a second measuring device atop a nearby silo, initiating the quest upon acceptance.
Reaching the Silo's Summit:
Exit the room and climb to the building's roof. Eliminate any rodents encountered. Climb out a broken window and descend the external ladder to the silo walkway. Equip your bolt-action weapon to counter electro anomalies. Proceed left along the silo's top to activate the device. Activating the device will attract Bloodsuckers. Choose to fight or evade them to return to Mongoose.
Confronting Yaryk Mongoose:
Return to Mongoose; he'll explain the experiment's unintended consequences. Players can choose to kill Mongoose or accept his reward. Either choice has no significant impact on the game. Killing him allows looting the Malachite pass; choosing the peaceful option yields the pass and coupons. The Malachite pass grants access to the STC Malachite facility (unless already accessible via main missions).
