Star Wars: Hunters to Shut Down Before First Anniversary
Star Wars: Hunters, which has announced its shutdown even before completing a year, will still get to celebrate its one-year anniversary before the final curtain call. The question remains: is it worth celebrating the anniversary of a game on its way out?
When Is the Star Wars: Hunters Shutdown?
The servers for Star Wars: Hunters are scheduled to shut down on October 1st, 2025, marking the end of the game's journey after just nine months since its launch. Players have until April 15th to wrap up Season 5, as the season concludes on that date.Zynga, both the developer and publisher, is set to release a final content update on April 15th. This update will introduce the last new Support Hunter, Tuya, available for free. On the same day, in-game purchases will be disabled, so make sure to spend any unspent Crystals as there will be no refunds.
The Ranked Mode will continue to operate until the servers go offline, and events from the season will be rerun, giving players one last chance to enjoy the game's content.
It Isn’t Shocking
While it's unfortunate, the shutdown of Star Wars: Hunters doesn't come as a surprise. The game faced numerous challenges from the outset. Announced in 2020, it suffered from multiple delays, with beta tests limited to the SEA and ANZAC regions.A delayed launch, absence of major console support, and a tepid reception contributed to its eventual shutdown. From a design perspective, the game missed a golden opportunity by choosing generic original characters over the iconic figures from the Star Wars universe that fans adore.
If you've uninstalled the game but are considering one last playthrough, you can still download Star Wars: Hunters from the Google Play Store until the shutdown date.
