Stellar Blade Summer Update Enhances Heat
Stellar Blade's summer update, released on July 25, significantly boosted its PS5 player count by over 40%. Dive into the details of the update and understand the surge in player engagement.
Stellar Blade's Summer Update Increased Player Count
Stellar Blade saw a remarkable 40% increase in its player base following the summer update on July 25. This update brought a host of new features, including bug fixes, fresh outfits, and a limited-time event.
Thanks to TrueTrophies' collaboration with GameInsights, they accessed data from over 3.1 million active PSN accounts. This enabled them to monitor player activity across PS5 and PS4 games, revealing that Stellar Blade's player count surged by 40.14% post-update.
It's worth noting that Stellar Blade was not discounted on the PS Store during this period, suggesting that the increase in player numbers was driven by the new content rather than sales. Although the update did not include the much-anticipated photo mode and was time-sensitive, it was effective in rekindling player interest.
The summer update introduced a limited-time summer vacation area at the Great Desert Oasis, featuring new background music and interactive sunbeds. Two new outfits, themed to match the update, were added to Clyde's shop. Additionally, the update fixed issues such as the hair color in the Boss Challenge Preset, along with other bug fixes.
Stellar Blade, exclusively launched on PS5 on April 26, 2024, received positive feedback for its fast-paced combat and stunning visuals. While some might view the summer update as modest, the community's response has been overwhelmingly positive, with many players returning to experience the summer getaway.
