Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Gets Final Major Content Update
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Receives Final Major Update, Ending Live Service Support
Rocksteady Studios has released the final major content update for its live-service title, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Season 4 Episode 8, titled "Balance," is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. This marks the end of new content development for the game, though servers will remain online.
Launched in February 2024 to mixed reception, the game's live-service model contributed to its relatively short lifespan. Rocksteady announced the end of support on December 9, 2024, with Season 4 Episode 8 as the final update. Despite this, all online features will continue to function, allowing players to enjoy the game's content with friends.
This final update includes:
- Libra Infamy Set: A new set inspired by the DC Super-Villain Libra, manipulating damage dealt and received by enemies.
- Notorious Weapons: Powerful new weapons, including The Silencer’s Complete Silence (with a devastating Alt-Fire), Doctor Sivana’s Magic Bullets (piercing and electrifying enemies), and Chronos’ Equilibrium (bonus damage based on missing shield).
- New Mayhem Mission: A final showdown against Brainiac.
- Gameplay Improvements: Reduced XP requirements for Squad Levels (with retroactive rewards), and adjustments to Deathstroke's Suicide Strike.
- Bug Fixes: Numerous bug fixes addressing various gameplay issues, UI elements, audio, and more. (See detailed patch notes below).
Offline Play Enabled: A previous update (Season 4 Episode 7) introduced offline play, allowing players to access the main campaign and seasonal missions without an internet connection. This ensures continued access even if servers are eventually shut down.
PlayStation Plus Promotion: Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is currently available on PlayStation Plus until February 3, giving players a chance to experience the game.
Season 4 Episode 8 Patch Notes:
New Content:
- Medieval Elseworld Expansion: Explore new areas and variations on existing locations within the medieval Elseworld. Key locations include The Quarry and The Arena.
- Libra Infamy Set: Applies stacks of Scales of Libra to enemies, increasing damage dealt and received by 50% per stack.
- Notorious Weapons: The Silencer’s Complete Silence, Doctor Sivana’s Magic Bullets, and Chronos’ Equilibrium offer unique and powerful combat options.
Gameplay Changes:
- Reduced Deathstroke’s Suicide Strike duration.
- Decreased XP requirements for Squad Levels (retroactive rewards applied).
Bug Fixes:
A comprehensive list of bug fixes is included, addressing issues across various aspects of the game, including:
- LuthorCoin expiration (Japan region).
- Playlist updates.
- Bonus XP rewards.
- Resource rewards.
- Leaderboard registration.
- Mayhem mission counters.
