Nintendo Switch 2 Features The New C Button
Functionality Will Be Revealed During the Direct
The much-anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 is set to launch in 2025, and with a Direct scheduled for later today, April 2nd, the excitement among fans is reaching a fever pitch. However, Nintendo might have already given us a sneak peek at the Switch 2 before the Direct, particularly highlighting the new C button.
Nintendo recently launched a smartphone app called Nintendo Today, designed to deliver the latest news and game information directly to players. Observant fans noticed that the app's listings on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store included promotional images, one of which boldly stated, "Get updates on Nintendo Switch 2 news plus game info, videos, comics and more every day."
Upon closer examination, the image from the Nintendo Today app seems to showcase the final version of the Nintendo Switch 2, complete with newly designed Joycons and the much-discussed C button on the right Joycon.
Back in January, the initial teaser for the Switch 2 revealed a mysterious black square button beneath the Home button, sparking speculation about its purpose, ranging from a new social feature to a sensor. The final design revealed through the Nintendo Today app confirms that this is indeed a C button. While its exact functionality remains a mystery, we can expect to learn more during the upcoming Nintendo Direct.
