Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will arrive in Call of Duty
Activision has revealed a new crossover event for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty: Warzone, bringing back the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This isn't the first time the Turtles have graced an Activision shooter.
While specifics regarding the collaboration's content and launch date (simply stated as "soon") remain undisclosed by the developers, the CODWarfareForum website has leaked some unverified details.
Reportedly, the crossover will feature operator skins for all four Turtles (though notably absent are April O'Neil, Master Splinter, and Shredder). New melee weapons are also anticipated, including a skateboard, katana, nunchucks, and a staff. The Grind map, a skatepark, is expected to be a central location for crossover events.
Despite the announcement, fan reaction has been muted. This isn't due to a lack of popularity for the TMNT franchise, but rather stems from the current troubled state of Black Ops Cold War. The game's prevalent bugs and cheating issues have significantly diminished its player base, leading to concerns that this collaboration feels like a last-ditch effort to revitalize a struggling title, with its success and longevity uncertain.
