Tides of Annihilation, drawing inspiration from Arthurian legend, casts players as Gwendolyn, a young woman battling alongside spectral knights to rescue her family and mend a fractured world.

The game unfolds in a ravaged, modern-day London, overrun by a mysterious otherworldly invasion. Players will confront relentless enemy hordes alongside their ghostly allies. Giant, menacing knights roam the city streets, demanding strategic combat—requiring players to scale these colossal foes for intense close-quarters battles.

While visually impressive, the game's narrative presents a challenge. Recent soulslike titles have successfully reimagined classic tales, such as the relatively unknown "Journey to the West" and the surprisingly dark take on Pinocchio in Lies of P. However, the Arthurian legend, being widely familiar, leaves Tides of Annihilation lacking a distinctive, fresh narrative hook, despite its visual splendor.
