"Tribe Nine Ends EOS Support Shortly After Global Launch"
Akatsuki Games has recently announced the End of Service (EOS) for their latest game, Tribe Nine, which is quite shocking considering it was launched on Android, iOS, and PC via Steam just a few months ago in February. What's behind this abrupt decision? Let's dive deeper into the reasons for its demise.
When Is the Tribe Nine EOS?
Tribe Nine is set to shut down on November 27th, 2025. Along with this disheartening news, Akatsuki Games has confirmed that Chapter 4 of the main story will not see the light of day. This is especially disappointing as the game had recently started teasing what was to come next.
As of May 15th, all new updates, features, bug fixes, and content releases have been officially canceled. Any previously mentioned in-game adjustments or new features are now off the table.
Two anticipated characters, Ichinosuke Akiba and Saizo Akiba, who were slated to join the roster, will no longer be added to the game.
Refunds will be issued for Paid Enigma Entities used on items such as Armed Support, Advanced Support, and the Support Contract – Revenio. These refunds will be processed after the Revenio contract expires.
Additionally, purchases of Enigma Entities and Daily Passes are no longer available through the app or web store. However, players can continue using their existing Enigma Entities until the official shutdown of Tribe Nine.
Why Did It Fail, So Soon?
Tribe Nine is a free-to-play extreme action RPG that boasts a unique style and rich worldbuilding. Despite its quality, the game faced challenges right from the start.
The release schedule was notably slow, with only one story chapter and one event in the first three months. Moreover, there was little incentive for players to spend money, as building a competitive team was achievable with just one pull, and duplicate characters weren't necessary. This was beneficial for players but detrimental to the developers' revenue model.
It seems that opting for a gacha system was a risky move for Tribe Nine, and unfortunately, it didn't pay off. Despite this, the game remains playable until November 27th, so if you haven't tried it yet, you can still check it out on the Google Play Store.
