Uncover the Secrets of Dark Fragment Acquisition in Palworld
Quick Links
Pocketpair's Palworld, renowned for its expansive open-world exploration, offers a constant stream of mystical items and Pals to discover. The Feybreak DLC significantly expanded this, introducing numerous crafting materials crucial for upgrading your character and Pal base. One such elusive material is Dark Fragments. Unlike the more common Paldium, Dark Fragments are essential for high-level accessories.
How to Obtain Dark Fragments in Palworld
To acquire Dark Fragments, hunt Dark-elemental Pals exclusively on Feybreak Island. This doesn't apply to Dark-elemental Pals on other islands. The coastal areas primarily feature ground and water-type Pals; venture inland to find Dark-elemental Pals. Note that some, like Starryon, are nocturnal unless they're boss variants.
Capturing or defeating these Pals (using Ultimate or Exotic Spheres is recommended) yields 1-3 Dark Fragments on average. Drops aren't guaranteed, but diligent hunting will provide a sufficient supply.
The following Dark-elemental Pals yield Dark Fragments. Be aware of boss and predator variants:
While less reliable, single Dark Fragments may randomly appear on Feybreak. Thorough exploration is key, but remember that frequent combat depletes ammo, which you may need for other challenges like Bjorn, the island's Tower Boss.
Utilizing Dark Fragments in Palworld
Dark Fragments, though difficult to amass, aren't used in many recipes. They primarily craft specialized saddles, accessories for certain Pals, and enhanced boots for your character.
Here's a list of craftable items requiring Dark Fragments. Unlocking schematics in the Technology Menu (or Ancient Technology Menu) using Technology Points (or Ancient Technology Points) is necessary, along with the appropriate machines and materials.
