The Last Knight adds depth to the Rinascita area, offering a different perspective on life beyond Ragunna City. While less expansive than major quests, it provides valuable rewards.
Starting the Quest
This quest unlocks after completing Chapter 2 of the main storyline ("What Yesterday Wept, Today Doth Sing"). It's highly recommended to finish Chapter 2, Act 3 before exploring Rinascita, as many side quests are locked until then. Locate Cosimo in Egla Town, Whisperwind Haven. He's near the first house by the main road, marked by a blue quest marker.
The Night Reveries
This involves a performance honoring a legendary knight. You'll fight the Mad Knight, who only appears at night (18:00 to 06:00). Find him at the town's central pool. He's not a difficult opponent.
Mimic Chests Challenge
After defeating the Mad Knight, go to the tallest tower, then fly to Carlow's location (quest marker). He's unconscious near a large purple flower. Touching the flower transports you to an area with chests. The first three are safe; in the next set, only the second chest (middle-left) is real – the others are mimics. Open the correct chest for Astrites and other rewards, then fight off the attacking mimics.
Following the Knight's Trail
Next, visit two locations associated with the Mad Knight, following quest markers and speaking to NPCs.
After talking to Mr. Millkeeper, Abby mentions a strange smell. Follow the marker uphill to encounter a unique Chop Chop with invulnerable Leftless and Rightless. Using a Questless Knight Echo (main Echo slot) is recommended for parrying and stunning the Chop Chop. Mr. Millkeeper reveals the "knight" legend was a fabrication.
Finding Carlow
Return to Egla Town during the day and find Carlow in a plaza. He's confronted by knights. Carlow challenges one to a duel, rejecting the fantasy and embracing true protection. The quest concludes after this challenge, awarding Union XP, Astrites, and resources.
