Guide to Enhancing Cannons in Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii
Naval combat is central to Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, making it crucial to enhance the Goromaru's weaponry. This guide details how to upgrade cannons in Pirate Yakuza, as they are the most vital and powerful assets in the game.
How to Enhance Cannons in Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii

In Chapter 2 of Pirate Yakuza, players explore two major hub worlds: Honolulu and Madlantis. These vibrant locations offer new areas to discover and characters to meet, essential for upgrading your ship and recruiting crew members to advance the story and build the Goro Pirates' reputation. During the main questline, you’ll encounter Julie, a skilled mechanic who runs the GearWorks shop in Honolulu.
Julie handles Goromaru upgrades, and players can return to her shop to enhance the ship’s weapons, including cannons, or even recruit her. Various materials, gathered by defeating enemies, are needed for different cannon upgrades. Below is a list of the four material types required in various combinations, depending on the desired cannon:
Components Quality Components Superb Components Miscellaneous (animal parts, fruits, stones)

Visit Julie, speak with her, and select the cannon you wish to upgrade. Once upgraded, access the crew formation menu on your ship to equip the cannons on either side of the Goromaru. Below are the available cannon types and their upgrade requirements:
Shark Cannon

The Shark Cannon inflicts elemental damage on enemy ships and reloads quickly, but its damage output is modest. Consider saving materials for more powerful cannons and acquiring this one later, especially to recruit Julie to your crew.
Egesta Cannon

The Egesta Cannon delivers gradual damage to enemy ships, making it a strategic choice. It fires two rounds at once, compensating for its slower reload time. Pair it with a different cannon type on the Goromaru for varied combat effects.

Laser Cannon

The Laser Cannon is arguably the top weapon for your ship in Pirate Yakuza. Save materials until its upgrades are available, as its devastating damage can swiftly destroy weaker ships and significantly weaken boss vessels, despite a longer reload time.
Super Laser Cannon

The Super Laser Cannon is the ultimate upgrade for the Goromaru’s arsenal, requiring rare components that become available later in Pirate Yakuza. Its long-range capabilities and immense power make it ideal for tough battles, such as those in the Pirate Coliseum or against the Devil Pirates.
That’s how to enhance cannons in Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii.
Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
