War Thunder Mobile's open beta for air battles has officially launched! Gaijin Entertainment delivers intense aerial combat with this update, featuring over 100 aircraft from three nations (with more to come).

While the game previously included aircraft in naval and ground support roles, this open beta introduces a full-fledged aerial tech tree and a dedicated air combat mode.

The open beta includes a new Aviation campaign, allowing players to manage their aircraft hangar, research tech trees, and upgrade crews. Squadrons of up to four aircraft can be formed, with customization options for aircraft and armaments.

Understanding the Air Hangar and Gameplay

The aircraft hangar serves as the central hub between battles. Here, players can manage their vehicles, select camouflage, explore the tech tree, and invite friends to their squadron.

Each aircraft slot offers three key actions: swapping vehicles, modifying armaments, and upgrading assigned crews. Squadrons can be composed of any available aircraft, irrespective of class, nation, or rank.
