World of Warcraft China is adding two exciting new mounts: the Blazing Royal Fire Hawk and the Golden Ashes of Al'ar. These stunning mounts, currently exclusive to China, are re-interpretations of the incredibly rare Pureblood Fire Hawk and Ashes of Al'ar. Their arrival follows the successful return of World of Warcraft to China after a partnership renewal between NetEase and Blizzard. This return has been celebrated with various events, including the unveiling of a Lightforged Gorehowl statue and the introduction of the teleporting Xiao Liu pet.

These new mounts are available through separate promotions beginning January 15th. The Blazing Royal Fire Hawk, reminiscent of the Pureblood Fire Hawk from Cataclysm's Firelands raid, boasts auspicious clouds within its wings while in flight. These clouds, known as xiangyun, symbolize peace, immortality, and good fortune in Chinese culture. The Golden Ashes of Al'ar, a regal gold version of the original Ashes of Al'ar (dropped by Kael'thas Sunstrider in The Burning Crusade's The Eye), features a sleek black saddle and evocative flavor text referencing Kael'thas' iconic line: "The golden Al'ar, beloved pet of Kael'thas Sunstrider, proves that death is merely a setback."

New Chinese World of Warcraft Promotion Mounts

  • Blazing Royal Fire Hawk
  • Golden Ashes of Al'ar

The Blazing Royal Fire Hawk is obtainable through an event called the Treasure Workshop, details of which are yet to be fully revealed. The Golden Ashes of Al'ar, however, is available through Landro’s Loot Box, costing ¥200 (approximately $27). This loot box contains one of eight items, including other coveted rewards such as the X-51 Nether Rocket X-TREME and the extremely rare Swift Spectral Tiger (from the discontinued World of Warcraft TCG). Players can team up to purchase loot boxes, earning bonus crates upon reaching specific spending milestones.

While there's currently no indication of an international release for these mounts, their stunning designs are sure to captivate World of Warcraft players worldwide. For now, players outside of China can only admire these magnificent additions to the game from afar.
