WB Reportedly Cancels Unannounced Hogwarts Legacy Paid DLC

According to a recent Bloomberg report, Warner Bros. has canceled an unannounced paid DLC for its popular game, *Hogwarts Legacy*. The planned story expansion was set to be released this year, alongside a "Definitive Edition" of the game. However, the decision to cancel came this week due to concerns that the content volume did not justify the intended price point. Warner Bros. declined to comment on the matter when approached by Bloomberg.

This move comes amidst a broader restructuring of Warner Bros.' gaming division, spurred by ongoing financial challenges. Earlier this year, the company made significant cuts, canceling a planned Wonder Woman game and closing down the studio behind it, Monolith Productions, along with WB San Diego and the MultiVersus developer, Player First Games. Additionally, layoffs occurred at Rocksteady as recently as last September.

Despite these setbacks, Warner Bros. continues to emphasize the importance of *Hogwarts Legacy* and the Harry Potter franchise as key assets. The company has stated that a sequel to *Hogwarts Legacy* is a top priority, reflecting their strategy to focus on fewer, but larger, franchises. The original game has achieved remarkable success, selling over 30 million copies.
