Xbox Developer Direct Date Announced
Xbox Developer Direct 2025: January 23rd Showcase Announced
Microsoft has unveiled the date for its next Xbox Developer Direct, scheduled for January 23rd, 2025. This marks the third annual installment of the event and the first Xbox game showcase of the new year. Following the successful launches of the 2023 and 2024 Developer Directs, this latest iteration promises a fresh look at upcoming Xbox titles.
The event, rumored earlier in January, is officially confirmed for January 23rd at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT. Viewers can tune in via YouTube and Twitch.
Confirmed Games:
Microsoft has already confirmed three titles for the showcase:
- Clair Obscur: Expedition 33: A turn-based RPG from Sandfall Interactive, targeting a 2025 release and confirmed as a day-one Xbox Game Pass title.
- Doom: The Dark Ages: The latest entry in the iconic Doom franchise from id Software, initially announced in June 2024 and showcased at QuakeCon 2024. A mid-2025 launch is currently speculated.
- South of Midnight: A stylish action-adventure game from Compulsion Games (Contrast, We Happy Few), originally announced in June 2023. A release date is anticipated.
Beyond the Confirmed Titles:
While these three games are confirmed, the previous Developer Directs (both exceeding 40 minutes) showcased multiple titles. The 2024 event featured Avowed, Ara: History Untold, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, and Visions of Mana. Therefore, additional unannounced games are likely to make an appearance at the 2025 showcase.
