Yakuza / Like a Dragon Fans Choosing Upcoming Official Merch, From Cult Clothes, Traffic Cones, and More Bizarre Items
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Yakuza/Like a Dragon series, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio is letting fans vote on the next official merchandise items! Fans can choose from an astounding 100 options, with the top two vote-getters slated for release within the next two years. The poll is currently only available in Japanese, but submissions can be made on the official website.
The selection ranges from standard anniversary merchandise like hoodies and pencil cases to incredibly unique and bizarre items pulled directly from the series' memorable moments.
Some of the more outlandish choices include: Munan Suzuki's cult outfit from Yakuza 0, the giant traffic cone from Yakuza Kiwami, and the intriguingly named "Puffy Gold Pants." Other options encompass a wide array of iconic in-game items, such as Majima's sake cup from Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Akiyama's gold watch, Kiryu's fountain pen from Yakuza 6, Kashiwagi's tambourine from Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Kiryu's wrestling mask from Yakuza 3, and Saejima's prison uniform from Yakuza 4.
2025 will mark at least one new release for the franchise's anniversary, with Like a Dragon: Pirate of the Caribbean launching on February 21st. While a second release is unconfirmed, RGG Studio's prolific output in recent years – nine games in the last five years alone – suggests it's not entirely out of the question. Their impressive track record includes Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Judgment Remastered, Lost Judgment, Like a Dragon: Ishin, Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth, and two Super Monkey Ball games, plus an enhanced remaster of Virtua Fighter 5.
