Get ready, fans of the Avatar universe! Nickelodeon and Avatar Studios have just announced a thrilling new addition to the beloved franchise: Avatar: Seven Havens. In celebration of the 20th anniversary of Avatar: The Last Airbender, creators Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko are bringing us a brand-new 2D animated series set to captivate audiences once again.

The upcoming series, Avatar: Seven Havens, will span 26 episodes and follow the journey of a young Earthbender who discovers she is the next Avatar after Korra. Set in a world shattered by a cataclysmic event, this new Avatar finds herself marked not as a savior, but as a potential destroyer of humanity. Hunted by both human and spirit enemies, she embarks on a quest with her long-lost twin to uncover their mysterious origins and save the last bastions of civilization known as the Seven Havens.

In a statement, Konietzko and DiMartino expressed their excitement: “When we created the original series, we never imagined we’d still be expanding the world decades later. This new incarnation of the Avatarverse is full of fantasy, mystery, and a whole new cast of amazing characters.”

Avatar: Seven Havens will be divided into two seasons, with each comprising a 13-episode book. The series is being co-created by DiMartino and Konietzko, along with executive producers Ethan Spaulding and Sehaj Sethi. While the cast has yet to be announced, anticipation is already building for this new adventure.

This marks the first mainline TV series from Avatar Studios, who are also working on a feature-length animated movie centered around adult Aang, set to premiere in theaters on January 30, 2026. As part of the 20th anniversary festivities, Avatar Studios is also launching a range of new books, comics, concerts, toys, and even a game in Roblox to celebrate this monumental milestone in the Avatar universe.
