Bandai Namco Unveils Digimon Alysion: Digital Card Game
Bandai Namco is once again venturing into the mobile gaming arena with Digimon Alysion, a digital rendition of the beloved Digimon Card Game. This free-to-play title is set to launch on Android and iOS platforms, though an exact release date remains under wraps.
The game made its grand debut at Digimon Con 2025, held on March 19th. Alongside the announcement of Digimon Alysion, Bandai Namco shared exciting updates, including the continuation of Digimon Liberator with a new arc slated for April 2025. They also unveiled a special video commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Digimon anime and teased a new project called Digimon Adventure: Beyond. Additionally, fans can look forward to a new RPG, Digimon Story: Time Stranger, which is in development for consoles and PC.
Digimon Alysion: Not Just a Card Game Port
Digimon Alysion is not merely a digital clone of the physical Digimon Card Game. It introduces innovative 'DigiAly' cards, unique to this version, alongside the traditional cards. Bandai Namco is also expanding the universe by incorporating new Digimon and characters.
The game's character roster features an all-female lineup, a departure from the norm for digital card games, sparking a mix of curiosity and skepticism among fans. Some enthusiasts were hoping for a more faithful adaptation of the physical game and are wary of these new elements.
This isn't Bandai Namco's first foray into Digimon mobile gaming, and their previous attempts have met with mixed success. With two prior failures, there's a cautious optimism surrounding Digimon Alysion's potential to thrive.
Despite the uncertainties, I'm eagerly anticipating the release of Digimon Alysion. A closed beta test is on the horizon, though specifics are yet to be disclosed. For the latest updates, keep an eye on the official website or their X account.
