Pokemon TCG Pocket launches Shining Revelry expansion and teases Ranked Matches
The wait is over—*Pokémon TCG Pocket* has just leveled up with the arrival of Shiny variants in its latest expansion, *Shining Revelry*. This update brings more than 110 brand-new cards into the game, many of which hail from the Paldea region. Seeing these radiant Shiny Pokémon sparkle on screen makes me wish I had a few extra Hourglasses to keep pulling from 10-packs.
As soon as the update hit, I couldn’t resist diving in headfirst. Like most eager Trainers, I spent a solid chunk of my hard-earned Pack Hourglasses on ten fresh packs. While I did manage to pull a shiny Charizard EX (a satisfying start, to say the least), the rest of the haul was a bit underwhelming. Still, I was happy to land the ever-useful Pokémon Center Lady. Why? Because she comes with the handy ability to heal Special Conditions—definitely a lifesaver when you're caught in a crippling Burn or Paralysis.
Ranked Matches Are Around the Corner
In line with previous expansions, this update introduces a new Emblem event—this time tied to the upcoming Ranked Matches mode. It’s set to shake up the meta and give competitive players something to look forward to. As part of this system, Trainers will be able to battle their way through various tiers—from Beginner all the way up to Master Ball Rank.
You’ll earn points based on your performance, and at the end of the season (which lasts approximately one month), you’ll receive an emblem reflecting your final rank. That means it's time to polish those decks, refine your strategies, and get ready to re-enter the arena if you’ve been out of practice.
How to Get Started With the New Expansion
If you haven’t already jumped into the action, now’s the perfect time to start. *Pokémon TCG Pocket* is available for free on both the App Store and Google Play, though keep in mind that there are optional in-app purchases to enhance your experience.
