Get ready, Call of Duty fans! The official Call of Duty podcast has revealed the beta testing dates for Black Ops 6. This two-part beta offers a sneak peek at the upcoming title.
Two-Phase Beta Access
The multiplayer beta unfolds in two phases:
- Early Access (August 30th - September 4th): Available to players who pre-ordered Black Ops 6 or have active subscriptions to select Game Pass plans.
- Open Beta (September 6th - 9th): Free for everyone to experience.
Mark your calendars! The full game launches October 25th, 2024, on PC (Steam), Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4. It will also be available on Xbox Game Pass.
New Game Mechanics and Features
Treyarch's Associate Director of Design, Matt Scronce, shared exciting details on the podcast:
- Multiplayer Maps: Black Ops 6 launches with 16 multiplayer maps—12 standard 6v6 maps and 4 Strike maps playable in 6v6 or 2v2 modes.
- Zombies Mode Returns: The popular Zombies mode returns with two brand-new maps.
- Omnimovement: A new movement mechanic is introduced.
- Scorestreak System Restored: The traditional scorestreak system, absent in Black Ops Cold War, makes a comeback, resetting upon player elimination.
- Dedicated Melee Weapon Slot: A dedicated slot for melee weapons eliminates the need to sacrifice a secondary weapon.
