Complete Assassin’s Creed Shadows Tournament for "Test Your Might" Achievement
In *Assassin’s Creed Shadows*, The Tournament is not just a thrilling challenge but also a fantastic source of XP and a pathway to earning the “Test Your Might” trophy. Here’s how you can conquer The Tournament and secure this achievement.
How to Unlock and Find The Tournament in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
To unlock The Tournament, you'll need to meet Gyoji, a resident of Yamato, who will approach you after you've taken down several members of The Shinbakufu. Gyoji will be waiting just outside your hideout, eager to discuss the tournament. The secret fighting arena is located at Ominesanji Temple in Southeastern Yamato. To make future visits easier, synchronize at the Ominesanji Overlook viewpoint to the west of the area, which will serve as a fast travel point. This is crucial for quick returns and character switching if needed.
Upon arriving at Ominesanji Temple, engage with Gyoji once more. He will brief you about the upcoming challenge: four one-on-one duels followed by a battle with the ultimate champion. After the cutscene, you can ring the bell to initiate your first fight.
How to Complete The Tournament in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
The Tournament is a series of intense, high-stakes duels. You can take breaks between fights, so make sure to use this time to heal with rations and upgrade your weapons and armor as necessary. To succeed in each duel, we recommend using Yasuke with a long katana, focusing on dodging and parrying to exploit your opponents' vulnerabilities. Utilize abilities like Power Dash and Payback whenever your adrenaline is sufficient.
Knowing the weapons of your adversaries can significantly aid your strategy. Here’s a rundown of the fighters you'll face:
- Lady Masago wields a Naginata.
- Lord Suguru fights with a Katana.
- Lord Hokuto uses a Kanabo.
- Lady O-Sen employs two Poison Katana and throws ranged items.
- Lord Unkai uses a Naginata and can heal by drinking if you keep your distance for too long.
After defeating all opponents, speak with Gyoji on the hill. He will express his gratitude and promise to inform you of future tournaments. It's during this conversation that the “Test Your Might” trophy should unlock.
Best Loadout and Skills for Tournaments in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
For The Tournament, the Long Katana is your weapon of choice. Opt for the highest rarity available and upgrade it to the maximum level at your hideout’s blacksmith. Enhancing it with engravings that boost Armor Damage or Armor Piercing will give you a significant edge. However, your armor selection is equally crucial, as it not only boosts your health but also provides game-changing engravings.
Before entering The Tournament, ensure you’ve unlocked the Samurai Daimyo Armor of Legend by defeating The Ox, a Shinbakufu leader. Additionally, earn the Protector’s Armor by completing a Castle mission. The Samurai Daimyo Armor provides a 75% damage increase but reduces your health to 25%, while the Protector’s Armor allows you to parry unblockable attacks. Combining these engravings can enable you to defeat tournament enemies in under a minute, provided you master the art of parrying.
In terms of skills, allocate as many Mastery points as possible into the Long Katana and Samurai skill trees. Prioritize maxing out Combat Expert to enhance your melee weapon damage, and don't forget to unlock Power Dash and Payback.
*Assassin’s Creed Shadows* is set to launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on March 20th, promising an exhilarating experience for fans and newcomers alike.
