Before tackling "Under the Straw Hat," you must begin "In Vino Veritas." This side quest unfolds in Kuttenberg. Upon arrival, speak with Casper Rudolf, who offers free wine samples on the city's west side. He needs information to improve his winemaking. You can either impress Havel with wine knowledge directly, or retrieve Casper's book from Adleta and learn from it. If going straight to Havel, ensure you're clean and well-dressed. When speaking with Havel, choose "Germany," "Steinberger," and "It's missing ginger" to obtain the necessary information. Return this information to Casper.
Accessing the Vineyard
Casper then tasks you with infiltrating the vineyard north of Kuttenberg to gather information about the incense Havel mentioned. Avoid trespassing by following the main road into the vineyard and speaking to the recruiter. This initiates the "Under the Straw Hat" side quest. Continue along the road, past a guard, to find Jerome on a bench. Inform him you've been sent there to receive instructions about working at the vineyard.

Working at the Vineyard
Work begins the following day. Return to the vineyard in the morning. To earn wages, move sacks to their designated locations and harvest thistles near the vines. Alternatively, you can directly search for the secret incense. The incense is located in the wine cellar, downstairs in the main building. Access requires either lockpicks or stealing Jerome's keys (beware of the consequences of getting caught). Locate a chest in the cellar and retrieve the Sulphur Wicks. This completes the main objective. Optionally, gather five seedlings for Casper to increase your reward. These are found across the building from the cellar entrance—remember, this is trespassing, so act quickly.
If you chose to work, collect your pay from Jerome at the day's end. Otherwise, return to Casper with the wicks (and seedlings, if collected). Completing these steps finishes both "Under the Straw Hat" and "In Vino Veritas." You can now proceed to other side quests, such as "Master Schindel's Toys."
